The beginning...

So we started out about a year ago looking for a home. We looked at nearly 60 homes and finally decided on Northville, Michigan, an historic town settled ~1825 about halfway between Ann Arbor and Detroit. We found this home which is on 2.1 acres of land and located just 1 block from the city center.

It is the largest residential lot in the Historic district, a district replete with many Victorian-era homes. It used to be a farm/orchard and was complete with wrap-around porch, extensive trees, but the interior had not been updated in over 70 years.

Note the Knotty Pine kitchen and "interesting" wall paper... At some point ~ 100 years ago, a barn had been attached to the main house and included ~2200 square feet of liveable space.
